, a semi-truck driver struck the concrete barrier dividing westbound and eastbound traffic on I-80 near La Grange Road in Mokena, according to Illinois State Police. Both of the two trailers the semi was pulling detached in the crash. No one was injured, but the emergency response and clean up prompted authorities to block all westbound lanes and divert traffic off onto La Grange Road. Aerial video captured by NBC Sky 5 showed the two trailers detached from the semi and leaning against the barrier as officials continued to work. All lanes remained closed as of 1:40 p.m., and traffic was majorly backed up, video showed. It is uncertain when it will be re-opened. Please use alternative routes in the interim, Mokena police said in a social media post.
