Service disruptions on CTA Green, Pink lines to continue past Wednesday

Source says

Train service on the transit agency’s Pink and Green lines was set to resume normal operation Wednesday morning, but the city crews still need more time for an ambitious repair project.

The project involves replacing the west leaf of the Lake Street Bridge over the Chicago River, and recent closures of the transit agency service over that bridge will continue to impact travel on the Pink and Green lines beyond the anticipated reopening time of 4 a.m. Wednesday, the Chicago Department of Transportation has announced. Those service interruptions mean Pink Line service in the Loop will continue to be impacted, as will Green Line service, according to officials. According to the transit agency, Green Line trains will operate in two segments, with service continuing between Harlem/Lake and Clinton. Trains will also operate between Clark/Lake and the South Side terminal on the Green Line, with shuttle buses replacing service between Clinton and Clark/Lake. Pink Line trains will operate between 54th/Cermak and the Racine Blue Line station. Passengers can transfer to the Blue Line to reach downtown, as Pink Line trains will not operate past Racine. There was no date given for an expected reopening of the impacted portions of those lines.
