Source says

So come this Sunday, it s going to be fun I m going to enjoy it. Rizzo won t be the only former Cubs star hitting the pavement for the iconic race. He ll also be running alongside his former teammate Jake Arrieta. And the race will even be a family affair. Plan is to run alongside my wife the entire time, he said. And our friend and maybe my brother we ll see how he he shapes up but, friends and family running it, Jake Arietta is running it, former teammates. So going to be awesome. It s going to be just enjoying the entire moment. Rizzo will be running to benefit the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, with a goal of raising $100,000, according to his fundraising page. But as of Wednesday, he had far exceeded that goal. We re still fundraising. I m going to push it here the next few days, try to get some late pushes from all our socials, so we ll see what the final number is. I know we re I believe I m near half a million, he said. As a cancer survivor himself, Rizzo has a long fundraising history, and running the 2026 Chicago Marathon will continue that trend. Proceeds from the marathon will go towards cancer research and resource support for children and families affected by cancer.
