After finishing 2nd and 3rd, Amos Kipruto finally gets his Chicago Marathon win

Source says

Amos Kipruto is finally no. 1 in Chicago. After finishing third in 2024 and second in 2025, Kipruto has officially won the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and in dominant fashion.

He took a late lead after battling neck and neck with last year s champion Jacob Kiplimo, who quickly fell behind as Kipruto picked up the pace with just miles to the finish line. This really is a great day for Kipruto, NBC Chicago analyst and American running coach Ed Eyestone said during the broadcast of the race. The sixth-fastest man in history, Kipruto recorded a time of 2:01:29 in London earlier this year. Kipruto has rarely raced outside of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Check back for more on this developing story.
