Road, power and construction have held steady. Water and transit stayed quiet.

Weeks start on Sunday. One thing is counted once per place per day, and something that runs for days counts on the day it started. Brief lane blocks that cleared inside an hour are left out, closures scheduled to run longer than a week are roadworks rather than incidents, an outage counts when it left 10 or more customers without power, and stories about policy or funding are not incidents.

What the map says

Tap a row to see it on the map.

Areas are measured from Broad Street and 8th Street in downtown Augusta: within 2 miles is Downtown Augusta, within 8 miles (about where the Bobby Jones Expressway, I-520, runs) is that side of Augusta, and beyond that is the metro. An item with no coordinates is counted in the totals but not placed on the map. Corridors come from the road a source named. Interstates are split into the stretch north, south, east or west of downtown Augusta, since one number for a whole interstate hides where the trouble is. Areas are the cities and towns of Richmond and Columbia counties and the Carolina side: Augusta-Richmond County, Grovetown, Harlem, Blythe, Hephzibah, North Augusta and Burnettown, from the Census Bureau's boundary files. Places that are not incorporated have no area drawn: items there are shown on the metro map.

Sources are read every ten minutes, and the counts are rebuilt whenever one of them publishes something new. Last counted Oct 26, 5:19 AM ET.
Only what these sources published. Nothing inferred. Counted once when an agency and a newsroom report the same thing.
