Fresno Tracker
Every road closure, water issue, outage, construction notice and transit alert the city's agencies, utilities and newsrooms reported across Fresno and the close-in metro, counted week by week. No login, no feed. Just the numbers, and where they landed.
What the numbers say
A steady week on the roads, with SR-99 coming up most. Construction was busier than the week before.
Half of Fresno's road incidents clear within 1.5 hours. The longest ran 26 hours.
Measured from 721 with a start and end time, the last 3 weeks.
Half of Fresno's outages clear within 6.5 hours. The longest ran 33 hours.
Measured from 272 with a start and end time, the last 3 weeks.
Half of Fresno's construction notices clear within 6.7 hours. The longest ran 6 days.
Measured from 161 with a start and end time, the last 3 weeks.
Week by week
Outages fell from 170 to 61 last week. Road and construction have held steady. Water and transit stayed quiet.
In the week of Oct 18, outages ran more than twice a normal week. Wednesday Oct 21 was the worst of it, with about 6,400 customers out at once around 10:50 AM, across 6 ZIPs.
Measured from 170 counted outages, and 6,441 out together at the worst moment of Wednesday.
Weeks start on Sunday. One thing is counted once per place per day, and something that runs for days counts on the day it started. Brief lane blocks that cleared inside an hour are left out, closures scheduled to run longer than a week are roadworks rather than incidents, an outage counts when it left 10 or more customers without power, and stories about policy or funding are not incidents.

Areas, most affected first
269 placedWhat the map says
Tap a row to see it on the map.Areas are measured from Fresno City Hall: within 3 miles is Downtown Fresno, within 12 miles (about where Highway 99 and Highway 180 meet the edge of town) is that side of Fresno, and beyond that is the metro. An item with no coordinates is counted in the totals but not placed on the map. Corridors come from the road a source named. Interstates are split into the stretch north, south, east or west of downtown Fresno, since one number for a whole interstate hides where the trouble is. Areas are the cities of Fresno, Madera, Kings and Tulare counties in the box: Fresno, Clovis, Madera, Visalia, Hanford, Porterville and the smaller cities of the valley, from the Census Bureau's boundary files. Places that are not incorporated have no area drawn: items there are shown on the metro map.
Sources are read every ten minutes, and the counts are rebuilt whenever one of them publishes something new. Last counted Nov 4, 6:37 AM PT.
Only what these sources published. Nothing inferred. Counted once when an agency and a newsroom report the same thing.
