Greenville Tracker
Every road closure, water issue, outage, construction notice and transit alert the city's agencies, utilities and newsrooms reported across Greenville and the close-in metro, counted week by week. No login, no feed. Just the numbers, and where they landed.
What the numbers say
A lighter week on the roads, with I-85 coming up most. Water and transit were quiet.
Half of Greenville's road incidents clear within 1.5 hours. The longest ran 6.5 hours.
Measured from 1424 with a start and end time, the last 2 weeks.
Half of Greenville's outages clear within 6.3 hours. The longest ran 19 hours.
Measured from 70 with a start and end time, the last 2 weeks.
Half of Greenville's construction notices clear within 70 minutes. The longest ran 2 days.
Measured from 291 with a start and end time, the last 2 weeks.
Week by week
Outages fell from 40 to 33 last week. Road and construction have held steady. Water and transit stayed quiet.
Weeks start on Sunday. One thing is counted once per place per day, and something that runs for days counts on the day it started. Brief lane blocks that cleared inside an hour are left out, closures scheduled to run longer than a week are roadworks rather than incidents, an outage counts when it left 10 or more customers without power, and stories about policy or funding are not incidents.

Areas, most affected first
670 placedWhat the map says
Tap a row to see it on the map.Areas are measured from Main and Washington Streets in downtown Greenville: within 2.5 miles is Downtown Greenville, within 8 miles (about where I-85 and I-385 run) is that side of Greenville, and beyond that is the metro. Spartanburg is its own centre: anything within 6 miles of downtown Spartanburg is placed there. An item with no coordinates is counted in the totals but not placed on the map. Corridors come from the road a source named. Interstates are split into the stretch north, south, east or west of downtown Greenville, since one number for a whole interstate hides where the trouble is. The areas are the incorporated towns of the Upstate from the Census Bureau's boundaries (public domain): Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Easley and the towns around them. Council districts are not drawn here. Unincorporated land, much of Greenville County, is shown on the metro map.
Sources are read every ten minutes, and the counts are rebuilt whenever one of them publishes something new. Last counted Oct 26, 4:07 AM ET.
Only what these sources published. Nothing inferred. Counted once when an agency and a newsroom report the same thing.
