Pensacola Tracker
Every road closure, water issue, outage, construction notice and transit alert the city's agencies, utilities and newsrooms reported across Pensacola and the close-in metro, counted week by week. No login, no feed. Just the numbers, and where they landed.
What the numbers say
A heavier week on the roads, with US 90 coming up most. Water, power and construction were busier than the week before.

Pensacola averaged 76 outages a day over today.

Road incidents cluster between 6 AM and 7 AM: 81 percent of them start in that one hour.
Measured from 57 road incidents, today.
Week by week
Weeks start on Sunday. One thing is counted once per place per day, and something that runs for days counts on the day it started. Brief lane blocks that cleared inside an hour are left out, closures scheduled to run longer than a week are roadworks rather than incidents, an outage counts when it left 10 or more customers without power, and stories about policy or funding are not incidents.
Where Pensacola was hit this week
53 percent of road incidents in today happened on four roads.
Areas, most affected first
138 placedWhat the map says
Tap a row to see it on the map.Areas are measured from Palafox and Garden in downtown Pensacola: within 2 miles is Downtown Pensacola, within 8 miles (about where I-10 runs) is that side of Pensacola, and beyond that is the metro. Fort Walton Beach and Destin are their own centres: anything within 6 miles of downtown Fort Walton Beach is placed as Fort Walton Beach, and within 5 miles of downtown Destin as Destin. An item with no coordinates is counted in the totals but not placed on the map. Corridors come from the road a source named. Interstates are split into the stretch north, south, east or west of downtown Pensacola, or of downtown Fort Walton Beach or Destin for their sides, since one number for a whole interstate hides where the trouble is. Districts are Escambia County's own commission boundaries, from its GIS: the five district seats, 1 to 5, which together cover Pensacola and the rest of Escambia County. Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties have no district drawn yet and are shown on the metro map.
Sources are read every ten minutes, and the counts are rebuilt whenever one of them publishes something new. Last counted Oct 10, 8:15 AM CT.
Only what these sources published. Nothing inferred. Counted once when an agency and a newsroom report the same thing.
