Savannah Tracker
Every road closure, water issue, outage, construction notice and transit alert the city's agencies, utilities and newsrooms reported across Savannah and the close-in metro, counted week by week. No login, no feed. Just the numbers, and where they landed.
What the numbers say
A lighter week on the roads, with SR 21 coming up most. Power was busier than the week before.
Half of Savannah's road incidents clear within 66 minutes. The longest ran 11 hours.
Measured from 28 with a start and end time, the last 2 weeks.
Half of Savannah's construction notices clear within 9 hours. The longest ran 12 hours.
Measured from 36 with a start and end time, the last 2 weeks.
Week by week
Construction notices rose from 16 to 21 last week. Road and power have held steady. Water and transit stayed quiet.
Weeks start on Sunday. One thing is counted once per place per day, and something that runs for days counts on the day it started. Brief lane blocks that cleared inside an hour are left out, closures scheduled to run longer than a week are roadworks rather than incidents, an outage counts when it left 10 or more customers without power, and stories about policy or funding are not incidents.

Areas, most affected first
27 placedWhat the map says
Tap a row to see it on the map.Areas are measured from Bay Street at Bull Street in downtown Savannah: within 2 miles is Downtown Savannah, within 8 miles (about where the Truman Parkway runs) is that side of Savannah, and beyond that is the metro. An item with no coordinates is counted in the totals but not placed on the map. Corridors come from the road a source named. Interstates are split into the stretch north, south, east or west of downtown Savannah, since one number for a whole interstate hides where the trouble is. Areas are the Chatham County coast and its neighbours: Savannah, Pooler, Garden City, Port Wentworth, Tybee Island, Richmond Hill and the towns around them, from the Census Bureau's boundary files. Places that are not incorporated have no area drawn: items there are shown on the metro map.
Sources are read every ten minutes, and the counts are rebuilt whenever one of them publishes something new. Last counted Oct 26, 4:07 AM ET.
Only what these sources published. Nothing inferred. Counted once when an agency and a newsroom report the same thing.
